Trainer Profiles. Who could be teaching you today?

Alys Bunce (RGN, PGCE, BSC Psych, FFTM RCPS Glasg)

I began my travel health career in 2011 after working as a staff nurse in a busy emergency department in Manchester. Before qualifying as a nurse, I lectured in Psychology and hold a post-compulsory PGCE, and over the years I’ve published across psychology, education, travel medicine and primary care.

I’ve been lucky enough to travel through South Africa, South America, Europe and South East Asia, and I love weaving academic, clinical and global perspectives into my teaching. I spent many happy years as a Branch Lead Travel Health Nurse and later Education Lead at Nomad Travel, before moving into freelance work.

These days, I spend most of my time training clinicians across the UK in immunisation, phlebotomy and travel health—when I’m not negotiating snack choices with my two young children. I currently share the Module 1 Lead role on the Diploma in Travel Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow with Prof. Vasan Sheshadri.

I’m also the creator of 'Train With Alys', the teaching platform and the 'Alys's Classroom' resource hub that other trusted trainers use to deliver their own sessions. You’ll find below the fantastic trainers who teach using the materials I’ve developed. I know, whoever it is, you will have a brilliant session with them.
